Concrete bowl fireplace?
By admin | October 19, 2007
T T asked:
I'd like to build/install a concrete bowl fireplace in the backyard. I already had the bowl picked out. I'm looking for ideas as how/where to put the gas shut-off as the bowl is sitting on the ground (there is no base). Thank you.

Have it a couple of meters away (have the piping go under ground). You could put it in a hidden area so as not to look like an industrial site but make sure it’s easy to access in case of an emergency

Concrete does not a good firepit make.
Concrete holds moisture is such a fashion that, when heated, the water explodes, cracking the concrete.
There’s a reason brick and clay are used for fire.
