Pammy asked:

I have a stainless steel fire pit, and after cleaning it out it's still all black colored. How to I clean it? Or is it stained black now?

The intense heat may have caused a chemical reaction in the metal itself, which is impossible to restore. If it still looks and feels charry and dirty, you could try using solvents like Turpentine or other paint thinners/strippers. Or, try Super Clean, a powerful multipurpose cleaner, I get mine at Wal Mart.

WD40 and fine steel wool can work well on stainless steel and chrome.

Maybe easy-off oven cleaner might work.
