How to DIY – Make Your Own Solar Power With Solar Panels
By admin | January 22, 2012
Obviously running off the grid has the advantage of saving you money in the long run, and who doesn't want the clean responsible alternative power of solar energy? There is just one thing that seems to get in the way of your average household running on solar power, and that is start up cost. What if I told you that you could simply build your own solar panels for almost nothing, and with the right set of plans its a whole lot easier than you might imagine.
I recently looked at getting solar panels to cover my current energy needs and was startled by the up front costs of having a system installed. For every 1200 watt little panel the cheapest price I could find was nearly $1,500. Although it would've began to pay for itself in about 10 years, this just wasn't the miracle cost cutter I thought it would be. After a lot more research I was turned on to the idea of buying all the needed materials and assembling units myself.
I could not be happier with this decision. I cut the $1,500 price tag down to under $200 a pop and can now boast a savings on my electric bill of nearly 80%. So before you fork over cash to buy a unit, or even a kit, look at this as the cheap alternative. A good set of plans even includes where to get all the materials for the absolutely lowest price possible. Don't be a fool, go green and do it cheaply today!
