Safety Tips for your Outdoor Fireplace

An outdoor fireplace can come in any shape or size. Any consumer may buy any outdoor fireplace than can fit the budget and style or design concept. Potential buyers of outdoor fireplaces however, should have something else in mind when buying their ideal outdoor fireplace. More than just the style and design, safety specifications should also be thoroughly considered. It is not, after all, just your enjoyment at stake but your personal safety, the safety of your friends and family and the protection of your property. The following are useful tips in choosing and using your outdoor fireplace.
· Many would recommend chimneas over fire pits and elevated fire pits for safety and comfort reasons. The chimnea type of outdoor fireplace allows for better airflow, thus ensuring that you and your companions don’t have to swim in an irritating sea of smoke. Elevated fire pits also run the danger of tipping over and potentially injuring those around.
· Needless to say, you should never be complacent with burning material around. Even as you are enjoying your campfire conversation, pay attention to what’s going on to your outdoor fireplace. A strong gust of wind, change in wind direction, a playful pet or a wayward toy can tip your outdoor fireplace, make the fire bigger and uncontrollable or send sparks flying around the camp area.

· Place your outdoor fireplace on a wide and clear open space. Make sure that there are no plants or trees or overhanging vines or branches that might just catch fire. You also have to keep at least 3 feet away from the fire to make sure that you don’t catch fire too.
· Never use your outdoor fireplace indoors. Common sense would tell you that the designers of such a fireplace have specifically intended the product for safe use outdoors.
